Lisle Park District - Doing Less With More

Source:Lisle Park District

If this is a contest between Broda and his cronies and the Lisle Park District to see who can be more wasteful and inefficient, would someone please pick the "winner" so we can put a tourniquet on the spending???

From 2000 to 2009:
  • 17% DECREASE in the number of acres of property owned by LPD from 476 to 397

  • 15% DECREASE in the number of parks from 42 to 36

  • 22% DECREASE in the number of baseball fields from 22 to 18

  • 30% DECREASE in the number of soccer fields from 10 to 7

  • 50% INCREASE in the number of regular employees

  • 50% INCREASE in the number of seasonal/part time employees

  3. All we can hope for is that people will go and vote. Unfortunately, very few voters go out and vote in most of Lisle's elections that is why it is almost impossible to get fresh people with fresh ideas voted into office not to mention even getting involved in local politics. Also, there is only one candidate not an incumbent on the ballot for park board for two open spots. So I say lets start by voting out Don Cook he has been in office the longest and needs to go. He let a thief work for the park district for a least five more years after it was brought to the boards attention. Giving this thief promotions all along the way. Then the thief resigned in disgrace went to trial agreed to pay $169,000.00 cash settlement in restitution and give up over $450,000.00 in retirement benefits but admitted no wrong doing. Yeah right! People plead guilty every day and pay this kind of money but admit no wrong doing according to the thief's attorney. How much do you think this thief pocketed during the thief's 19 or 20 years of employment? This all happened after a former Director was also prosecuted agreed to resign in disgrace with only a slap on the wrist. Transparency is not in this boards vocabulary everything is done in "executive session" always has been and until the voters put an end to this pattern of behavior it will not change. That is why the park board meetings aren't broadcast on television. Please vote this April if you want the board to do more with less instead of less with more.
